Kid Bookie chats to SteveO about his new single ‘Premonition’ and making it into the music scene.
Biography
Kid Bookie’s music video for ‘Premonition’ has been highly anticipated since the release of “You’ll Rate Me When I’m Dead” in June, has been unveiled via Complex recently, and is the second record from Kid Bookie to get a co-sing from Eminem’s camp. South London’s Kid Bookie collaborates with long time music collaborators Singer Christie and fellow MC Dot Rotten along with US Rapper Nasaan. The track, produced by Zeh Ellis, samples Dr. Dre’s ‘What’s The Difference’ featuring Eminem and Xzibit, with an up-to-date twist, it fuses a “hybrid of sounds” and a “clash of flows between UK and US” give it a raw texture. The three mc’s, Kid Bookie, Dot Rotten and Nasaan deliver chopper flows on the trap beat, along with the sampled synths which give it an eerie vibe. Lyrically, they pose a threat to all competition, ready to explode at any time and cause damage, and Christie delivers excellently sung vocals on the chorus. The visuals mix lip-synced performances from the four artists with compelling action shots which serve as like premonitions.
