2025 marked 15 years of Unity Radio on the FM. From our grassroots beginnings to broadcasting across FM, DAB and worldwide, we remain rooted in community and culture.
This year included major moments such as Unity Radio partnering with JD Sports and New Balance, delivering youth-led content and live activations.
Our NGY programme continued to thrive with standout sessions featuring CGL, alongside the successful completion of our Music Tech, Radio and TV courses, creating real pathways into the industry.
The Prime Time Show with KJ remained as strong as ever, while the Unity Radio Academy stayed at the heart of everything we do supported by Youth Music.
Continuing documenting and preserving Greater Manchester’s street culture we delivered the Azimuth Project at Manchester Central Library archiving historically significant radio broadcast recordings.
Working with GMCVRU and HMPrison’s we delivered Hope Hack’s across the northwest!
We also strengthened partnerships with FORMATGG, delivered Street Heat 4, and celebrated young talent at the Unity Radio Academy Awards Evening.
A landmark year for leadership and live broadcasts saw DJ Basha appointed Deputy Director, with Unity Radio covering Reggae Land and Creamfields.
The year was capped off with the extension of our Ofcom licence through to 2030, securing the future of Unity Radio.
Thank you to @HOST, our presenters, students, partners and listeners here’s to 2026 💙
