Unity Radio Academy was proud to welcome Career Ready Business & Economics Lower Sixth students from Pendleton Sixth Form College to HOST at MediaCityUK for an exciting workplace visit focused on creativity, media and future career pathways.
Organised as part of the Career Ready programme, the visit gave students the opportunity to step inside a real working media environment and experience first-hand how content, radio and digital media are produced within the creative industries.
During the day, students explored the Unity Radio Academy studios, learned more about live broadcasting, podcast production and content creation, and gained an insight into the different roles that exist behind the scenes in media. The session was designed to help young people build confidence, develop their understanding of workplace environments and see how their skills could connect to future opportunities.
The visit also formed part of a wider experience at HOST, with students getting the chance to explore the building’s innovative digital spaces, including the Esports gaming area and the immersive Igloo 360° experience.
Unity Radio Academy continues to support young people by creating real-world learning opportunities that connect education with industry. By opening up access to professional spaces, equipment and experienced practitioners, the Academy helps learners develop practical skills, confidence and ambition for the future.
A huge thank you to Pendleton Sixth Form College, Career Ready, Salford City Council and everyone involved in making the day such a positive experience.
We look forward to welcoming more young people into Unity Radio Academy and continuing to inspire the next generation of creative talent.
