Looking to kickstart a career in music, media or broadcasting?
Join us in the heart of MediaCityUK, home to the BBC, ITV and some of the UK’s top creative talent, as Unity Radio Academy launches a brand new set of courses this autumn. Led by experienced tutors with real industry backgrounds, the Academy gives you the chance to gain recognised qualifications while learning hands on in a working radio station.
Your tutors include DJ Basha, a professional DJ, youth mentor and Unity Radio’s Deputy Director, Hayley Elliott, a performing arts specialist and Education Coordinator, and Jay Kurdy, a touring artist and Unity Radio presenter.
After a huge year for our students, with achievements celebrated during Graduates Week and at our Awards ceremony, we’re excited to welcome the next wave of talent. Here’s what’s coming up:
Music Technology
Start date: 22nd September
End date: 26th November
Days: Mondays and Wednesdays
Length: 9 weeks
Qualification: NCFE
Learn the essentials of music production, from beat making and recording, in our fully equipped studio. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to level up, this course will sharpen your skills!
Radio and TV Production
Start date: 14th October
End date: 18th December
Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Length: 9 weeks
Qualification: Arts Award Bronze and Silver
Explore the full process of creating content for radio and TV, from scripting and presenting to recording and editing. Perfect for anyone who wants to get into presenting, podcasting or behind the scenes production.
NGY
Start date: 7th October
End date: 2nd December
Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Length: 8 weeks
Qualification: Discovery Award
Aimed at younger creatives, the NGY programme gives you the space to develop your voice and build confidence through content creation, performance and storytelling.
