This week on The Breakfast Show with Jasper Hopkins we welcome two of Manchester’s most foremost talents, Cooper T and RenzNiro. Both have a completely original sound on different sides of the spectrum, which will make for a great week of content on Unity Radio’s Breakfast Show with Jasper Hopkins. Be sure to tune in Monday to Friday from 7:30am to catch Jasper interviewing the guests.
On Tuesday, we welcome Cooper T, one of my favourite up and coming groups from the city due to their unique sound. The masked duo delve into alternative sounds which results in a stringy yet groovy sonic profile, completely setting them apart from most of the city’s talent. Their latest effort “Scared” almost gives off a Mike Skinner aura, the indie like guitar riffs set the tune up perfectly for the husky sounding vocals from the Manchester duo. The song is completed by the extremely catchy hook; “Slap bangin’ in your face!” and the instrumental does exactly that, a breath of fresh air from a lot of Mancunian releases recently. Be sure to tune in from 8am on Tuesday to catch the duo break down their two singles and explain when we can expect an album/EP.
On Wednesday, we open the studio doors to RenzNiro, who is fresh off the release of his debut full-length album “See Me, See Trouble”. Starting out his career in the period of lockdown, the odds haven’t always been in Renz’s favour. Yet, even with the obstacles in front of him, he has continued to go from strength to strength with each single he released. The 13 song abum is a wonderful representation of the versatility and vibrancy of Renz’s sound. The body of work is dynamic, slick and leaves you wanting more from the tracks. At a run time of 36 minutes, Renz is teasing his multifaceted skill set across many different sounds and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for him. Make sure you tune in on Wednesday from 8am to hear Renz break down the album track by track.
