Prima & Mennis join Jasper Hopkins on the Unity Radio Breakfast Show this week!
This week on Unity Radio’s Breakfast Show with Jasper Hopkins we keep the ball rolling with some more local talent conversating over the airwaves. As the brighter weather starts to creep into Manchester, it’s important that we keep the vibes correct to go alongside the warmer climate.
Monday 25th April / Prima
On Monday we open the studio doors to Manchester native singer/songwriter Prima, who has set the local scene alight with her soft and beautifully harmonised vocals over light-hearted trap/R&B influenced production. Prima is currently gearing up to release her debut full-length project and will be playing exclusive cuts of the new work on the show so this definitely isn’t one to miss. However, Prima isn’t a newbie in the scene by any stretch of the imagination, she has been releasing music for the best part of half a decade and this is evident in her confident delivery of the intoxicating melodies she emits. Join us on 92.8FM, DAB, online and on our smartphone app from 8am to hear the interview with Prima in its entirety.
Tuesday 26th April / Mennis
Tuesday see’s us welcome Mennis, an established voice in the local scene who is fresh off his first project since 2019. Mennis first gained real exposure in Manchester through feature placements on local legends Black Josh’s 2017 album “Brexit”, since then Mennis has only strengthened his repertoire as a rapper. After dropping countless freestyles, EP’s and singles over the years, Mennis released his first “full-length” 7-track album “Low Lif£” in 2019. Mennis expertly blends his gritty bars with lush, expansive production from an array of producers, from this point onwards it was clear Mennis was going to blaze his own path through the Manchester scene. 3 years on from Low Lif£, Mennis returns with another 7-song suite named “Sth Mcr”, with the track “Roll the Dice” being the focal point of the project. A track that perfectly displays the confidence and poise Mennis possesses after years of solid releases. This song oozes an arrogant confidence: “I gave myself an advance, I own my own masters”, a huge flex. Be sure to check out the project and tune in from 8am on Tuesday to hear the man himself break down the album.
