Thursday 30th July 7-9pm – Ann Coffey – NGY Show
This week on the NGY Show we will be interviewing Ann Coffey, a local MP who is looking into the issue of child sexual exploitation. Her priority is listening to children and young people, trying to emphasise the importance of “putting the voice of the child centre stage”.
Coffey has been speaking to agencies, experts, victims and their families, as well as drawing together the range of reports published on specific cases and the broader issue of child sexual exploitation to be able to report back, ‘Real Voices’ with recommendations on how agencies can work better together to respond effectively to the issue. In this interview you can hear Ann Coffey talking to Nikita about how young people can give themselves the best chance of avoiding these awful situations, how drugs and alcohol are linked to child sexual exploitation, how the services are changing to make sure that young people can trust them in these circumstances and how the NGY Show really is making a difference.
