The CGL (Change, Grow, Live) team recently collabed with the NGY (Next Generation Youth) to highlight the growing health risks associated with vaping, aiming to educate young people on the dangers and long-term effects it can have.
During a live broadcast on Unity Radio 92.8FM at HOST Salford, NGY hosts Big Simz, Baby Snoop, Adz, and DeeDot led an engaging discussion with representatives from CGL Amy and Nick, tackling the challenges many young people face when it comes to smoking and vaping.
CGL, a national organisation dedicated to supporting individuals through recovery and lifestyle changes, shared expert insights on the impact vaping can have on both physical and mental health. Their mission, “to transform lives by providing services built on evidence and compassion, rooted in the communities we serve” underpinned the conversation.
The group emphasised that while vaping is often marketed as a safer alternative to smoking, it still carries serious risks, particularly for young people. Issues such as nicotine addiction, respiratory problems, and the influence of peer pressure were discussed in depth.
NGY’s involvement in the conversation reflected their ongoing commitment to giving young people a voice on matters affecting their generation. By collaborating with organisations like CGL, they hope to challenge misconceptions and promote healthier choices within the community.
The partnership marks an important step in local efforts to address youth vaping and encourage open, informed conversations about health and wellbeing.
