Congratulations to the whole Manchester Hip Hop Archive & UNITY RADIO Team for the recent short-listing for the best exhibition at the Manchester Culture Awards 2022!
The announcement comes as MHHA begin touring the exhibition across Greater Manchester, where we will continue spreading Manchester’s 40-year heritage with new and young audiences.
As much as we recognise the achievement of our MHHA team, this nomination would not have been possible without the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which provides funding across the UK to bring local communities together to enjoy shared passions together – in this case, Hip Hop!
Working in partnership with the MDMA, who are invaluable in providing source material from the world of Manchester Hip Hop, the MHHA is accessible to all.
From Manchester university students looking to delve into the city’s cultural and musical heritage to the totally uninitiated, this exhibition has something for everyone to learn, ponder or be in awe of.
Sharing the roots of our culture and celebrating local MCs, DJs, Graffiti Artists, Break Dancers and Fashion entrepreneurs who shaped our city and contributed to the global impact of Hip Hop culture.
