Jay Kurdy has been involved with unity Radio since the early naughty’s when the station was located in Beehive mill, however working in the US took him away from the airwaves until his recent return in 2024. Back then he was hosting the Friday night slot and played music from local and upcoming artists and well known UK acts. Jay now works on the Tuesday morning slot, from 10am till 1pm. Due to his diverse background in Hip hop, Dance and Reggae, Jay’s show follow’s the same trend. However the last 45 minutes of Jays shows are dedicated to his feature “Take it back, Tuesday”. Jay breaks loose and plays a little bit of everything from yester year!
Unity has always stayed true to its mancunian roots, and continues to invest in the local community, not only with its shows and events but also with community projects and this is something that is close to Kurdy’s heart.
Kurdy has a diverse range of musical tastes and this has given him the opportunity to work with artists across many genres including the likes of Eric Martin (Technotronic), European Dance act Cappella, The UKS platinum selling band N-Trance, whilst also sharing stages with hip hop greats such as SugarHill Gang, Klashnikoff and Big Daddy Kane.
From Running the hugely successful Missing in Manchester Raves that ran for over 6 years, 2 of which were held at the old Boddingtons brewery. To The ‘Mums The Word’ monthly events (Manchester unsigned music scene) Kurdy has always been involved in music projects in one guise or another. Jay Kurdy has released 2 successful mixtapes that took acclaim both in the UK, US and as far as Asia. His recent highlight was the incredible remix of Michael Jacksons “Man in the Mirror” which reached no.6 in the Uk hip hop charts on iTunes. Whilst his 2nd single in 2024 my not have reached as high in the charts its widely regarded as Jays best piece of work, Rise Ft Rob Wheeler was jumped up on by numerous magazines and bloggers.
If this isn’t enough Jay Kurdy currently tours with the multi platinum N-Trance and is in the process of recording new material with the 90’s mega band, which promises to bring them back in to the future!
Jay Kurdy has promised us at last 2 new singles in 2024 before he releases his album which is expected to drop early 2025. He continues to tour with N-Trance and hopes to take his own music on the road before the end of the year
