It is with great sadness that we heard the heartbreaking news that Shaun Lever had passed away. Today, our thoughts are with Shaun’s family, friends and everyone who knew and loved him, as they laid him to rest.
Shaun was a much-loved member of the Unity Radio family, hosting our Drivetime show for a good few years. His passion for music, infectious personality and dedication to Manchester’s music scene made him a favourite with listeners, colleagues and everyone who had the pleasure of working with him.
Beyond the microphone and the DJ booth, Shaun was known for his generosity and kindness. He selflessly mentored many of Manchester’s up-and-coming DJs, always taking the time to share his knowledge, offer encouragement and help others develop their craft. His belief in supporting the next generation has left a lasting mark on our city’s music community.
Shaun wasn’t just an incredible DJ and broadcaster, he was a genuinely good person who always wanted to see others succeed. His legacy lives on through the people he inspired, the music he championed and the friendships he built.
From everyone at Unity Radio, we send our heartfelt condolences to Shaun’s family, friends and everyone mourning his loss. As he was laid to rest today, we remember him with gratitude, respect and love.
Rest in peace, Shaun. Thank you for everything you gave to Unity Radio, to Manchester’s music scene, and to the people around you. You will always be part of the Unity Radio family, and you will never be forgotten.
