This course prepares you to work in the film industry. To complete this course, you will need to attend skill-based workshops, produce a short film, and complete this course book as part of your training.
By the end of this training, you will have the opportunity to create your own 5 min short film. In this course, you will also.
- Develop technical skills to meet film production requirements
- Understand professional development opportunities within the film industry
- Be able to develop effective working relationships with film production team members
- Understand film industry working practices and legislation
- Be able to review film productions
But don’t panic! The training you receive will supply you with all the skills you need to achieve this.
You will build a portfolio of evidence proving your competence in this training award during the workshop training. By the end of the course, you will:
- Know more about the film industry
- Be able to explain the working culture of the film industry
- Operate Camera equipment
- Operate video editing software (premiere pro)
- Review and critique short film productions
This training course will result in a nationally recognised NCFE Level 2 Award – ‘preparing to work in the film industry’.

This course is part of your Create a Community Radio Programme training. To complete this course, you must attend skill-based workshops and complete this course book as part of your training.
By the end of this training, you will have the opportunity to run your own 30-minute radio programme. In this, you will
- Present the radio show
- Drive the studio desk
- Conduct a live interview with a guest of your choice.
But don’t panic! The training you receive will supply you with all the skills you need to achieve this.
You will build a portfolio of evidence proving your competence in this training award during the workshop training. By the end of the course, you will:
- Know more about radio
- Be able to develop ideas for radio shows
- Write schedules and links
- Operate the desk in the studio
- Present your radio programme on the station if you wish!
This training course will result in a nationally recognised NCFE Level 2 Unit – ‘Create a Community Radio Programme’. This accreditation proves you have the skills needed to broadcast your own show at the community radio station.
