YOU MCR talk Business, Entrepreneurship, & advice for new start ups! Interview w/ The New Talent Academy
Ellie, Samantha & Mia from YOU MCR Hair salon based in Whitefield spoke with The New Talent Academy about their business journey and positive advice for upcoming entrepreneurs. Sharing an insight into their story and what inspired them to take action to open a hair saloon, inspired from their idols on social media and the loss of a dear family member which led them to act on their dreams and take the leap to open You MCR.
Their main goal was to open a safe space where people could come and leave feeling confident, as they believe that for many people confidence starts with the hair.
They also talk about how they started the business and how easier it was starting it with friends, while keeping it professional amongst customers.
The salon nowadays employs 10 hair stylists and 2 nail technicians, offering all their knowledge to help customers leave the salon feeling confident and the best versions of themselves.
Amongst their many achievements the Entrepreneur’s were finalists in the UK hair and beauty awards (2023) in Birmingham, whilst also working with one of the uk’s biggest clothing brands ‘PLT’ on shoots, and Ellie won the Loreal awards in London, the list goes on and on.
They have also partnered with MCR Mind charity to be able to help their customers, that may use the salon to decompress and relax, and also their members of staff.
Their advice to young women wanting to start a business or getting into business would be to use their passion, creativity, determination, confidence and focus to pursue their goals.
