Trafford Carers Centre talk supporting young and old carers! Interview W/ The New Talent Academy
The New Talent Academy talked to Trafford Carers Centre about their work supporting
and aiding young and old carers.
Simon Locke, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Trafford Carers Centre, talks on the
importance of recognising how diverse and varied carers can be. From grandparents, to
parents, to sons and daughters, Simon asks to recognise that all carers regardless of their
age, need support and recognition.
The TCC takes most focus on aiding people who are not paid for
caring duties, this means that in these rough times with the cost of living raising and the cost of necessities
like heating, food, and electricity, carers can be left with no money to afford anything
else. Things like little luxuries and simple essentials to make people happy are missed by
carers as they receive no support in their efforts to care for another or more vulnerable
people.
Simon also expands on the efforts Trafford Carer Centre has taken to support carers in the
Trafford areas and how events and parties have helped to get them talking and understanding
the carers even more.
