The Zangwills members Jake, Ed and Sam met at six form college in Northwich, and the four-piece was completed when they were joined by drummer, Adam, in May 2017. Debut single New Heights was released in December 2017. Since, they have released two EPs, It’s Really Up to You and In Amongst the Glitter, which have earned them comparisons to indie rock greats The Cure, The Smiths and early Arctic Monkeys.
The band have gained recognition for their electric live sets and enthusiastic following, with their two most recent shows at Deaf Institute and Academy 3 selling out. The group have a very distinctive sound, derived from the differing inspirations brought to the band by each member. This, along with their stellar festival slots across the country have drawn mass amounts of attention to the boys over the last year. The Zangwills are definitely ones to watch on the indie rock scene and we’ll hopefully be hearing more from them in the future.
