The National Trust talk helping local environments and communities! Interview w/ The New Talent Academy
The National Trust Dunham Massey joins the New Talent Academy
to talk about the importance of keeping both local communities and nature’s health.
Anna Massey explains the work of the National Trust providing the community with necessary tools
and workshops to learn and embrace the key skills of nature. Harvesting, growing vegetables,
composting, and bee keeping just being a few of them.
The National Trust Dunham Massey is working with Trafford Housing Trust and
The Olinda Partnership to create a community garden at Broadheath Triangle in Altrincham.
The project aims to bring the local community together outdoors to look after a shared
space, grow their own food and get closer to nature. There are regular seasonal activities
for people to get involved in; all sessions are free and everyone is welcome.
In the interview further details are discussed about the project as well as the best ways to
locate, access, and help the project reach its desired fruition.

The National Trust aims to join communities together in keeping green spaces, both private
and community ones, healthy and always fit to the needs and request of local communities.
For this, Anna explains that already they have asked local communities on what they desire
when it comes to accessible green spaces as well as events that can be made inside of them.
Many events have already been organised by the National Trust which hopes to bring families
and friends together as well as make them aware on the needs of the environment and the
ways that people can benefit from own grown food.
