Suggz talks No Sick Days EP, Millions of Streams & Wythenshawe 2 the World! Interview w/ Kai Jasper
Manchester rapper Suggs is enjoying a breakthrough year, with over one million streams, 50,000 social-media followers and a growing list of major co-signs and collaborations.
Speaking to Unity Radio’s Kai Jasper, Suggs discussed his journey from Wythenshawe to becoming one of the rising names in Manchester’s rap scene. His love for music started from a young age, influenced by his family and Manchester’s grime and 140 scene. However, Suggs says fans can expect much more from him, with rap, wave and other sounds all part of his plans.
“I’m trying to do everything,” he said.
His rapid growth has been clear across streaming platforms and social media. Suggz recalled a time when his videos received around 400 views, compared with now regularly reaching 100,000 views. For him, the numbers matter because they show people are genuinely connecting with his music.
Suggs has also received support from established names including AITCH, Chip, Michael Dapaah and DJ Semtex, describing the support as genuine and something he deeply appreciates.
His next major release is the No Sick Days EP, arriving on 6 November. The title reflects Suggs’ approach to his career: “We’re never slowing down, non stop dropping.”
With a collaboration featuring Aitch also on the way, Suggs is already looking beyond Manchester. He says he wants to take his music internationally in 2027 and continue experimenting with different sounds.
His advice to upcoming artists is simple, stay consistent. After years of posting music before receiving recognition, Suggz believes persistence is what creates opportunities.
“You’re gonna have to stay consistent regardless,” he said.
With No Sick Days on the horizon, Suggs is showing exactly why there are no days off in his journey.
