Sankeys Manchester Returns to Unity Radio!
Sankeys Manchester is returning to Unity Radio this Friday, with a brand new bi-weekly show hosted by Manchester Heavyweight DJ and producer Pirate Copy.
Few names are as closely associated with Manchester’s clubbing history as Sankeys. From its original home in Ancoats to its new location in the city, the club has played a significant role in shaping Manchester’s underground electronic music scene.
With Season 2 of the newly reopened Sankeys launching this Saturday, the iconic Manchester brand is continuing its story at the new home on Sidney Street (M1 7HB), bringing its focus on house, techno and underground electronic music back to the city.
Sankeys has a long-standing connection with Manchester’s club culture. Its original Ancoats venue became renowned for its industrial setting, intimate atmosphere and forward-thinking line-ups, welcoming some of the biggest names in electronic music alongside emerging talent. Over the years, Sankeys became a recognised name far beyond Manchester, developing a reputation that extended across the UK and internationally.
That legacy also includes a longstanding relationship with Unity Radio, with Sankeys previously featuring on the station during its original Ancoats era. Now, as the club begins its latest chapter, that connection is being renewed.
From this Friday, Sankeys will return to the Unity Radio schedule with a new bi-weekly show, airing every other Friday from 7–9PM and hosted by Manchester DJ and producer Pirate Copy.
At the helm of the show is Pirate Copy, a major force in Manchester’s house and underground scene. Known for his infectious, groove-heavy sound and seriously energetic DJ sets, he has built a reputation as one of the city’s standout electronic artists, taking his sound from Manchester’s most respected dancefloors to clubs and festivals across the world. With a distinctive style, deep-rooted connection to the city’s club culture and a reputation for bringing serious energy behind the decks, Pirate Copy is the perfect artist to represent the Sankeys sound on Unity Radio.
The new Unity Radio show will provide a regular platform for Sankeys to showcase its sound, DJs, guests and musical identity!
