Robert McFarlane, known to his fellow Manchester BBoys and BGirls of the 1980’s as the highly respected Rapper Prince Kool, joins the Manchester Hip Hop Archive Board as the first official appointment and Chair.
Prince Kool, who was a driving force behind ‘Rock the House Crew’, played a significant role in South Manchester’s Hip Hop scene in its early days as both a music pioneer and community entrepreneur, creating the first ‘Manchester Rap Competition’ held in ’89 and ’90 at Fielden Park, West Didsbury, where he then went on to continue his positive impact and influence as a youth worker connecting young people with education through Hip Hop.
The Manchester Hip Hop Archive welcomes Robert to the post and look forward to working together to bring Hip Hop Education and the story of Manchesters Rap Community to Manchesters Central Reference Library.
