
Gilles Peterson is a club DJ born in France. Peterson owns several record labels. From Acid Jazz to Talkin’ Loud and now Brownswood Recordings, Gilles’s work as an A&R, as a producer; as a remixer and, of course, as the curator of compilations only seems to intensify. Peterson has been associated with the careers of artists of the 1990s, such as Erykah Badu, Roni Size and Jamiroquai.
Giles now continues to spin regularly around the world. peterson also has a new 3-hour Saturday afternoon show on BBC Radio 6 Music has seen him take his unique musical mix to a new and growing audience of music lovers whilst the syndicated Worldwide radio show continues to spread his all around the world. From Sun-Ra to James Blake to Theo Parrish to Flying Lotus – if it swings in the right places, it’s in.
On Friday 2nd March, Gilles Peterson took to the stage at the legendary Manchester venue Gorilla. The evening was filled with lots of variations of old and modern Jazz, a box of soul, Latin and boogie records. manchester’s Dj collective Banana Hill started by warming the crowd up before Gilles blessed the crowd with his wide selection of tunes.
