Returning from a short break from music with his recent collaboration with Wretch 32 and Chip on “Nobody”, UK vocalist Loick Essien returns with the first single from his upcoming SMR EP.
“Number One” is the first cut to be heard from the highly anticipated EP, out June 7, and combines his powerful, uplifting vocals with a meaty deep house bass line.
Production comes from Rymez and Sillkey (the former responsible for Wiley’s “Heatwave”, while the latter was responsible for another Wiley hit, “Can You Hear Me (Ayayaya)”), and with a pair of safe hands like that behind the desk, “Number One” was never going to be a dud.
SMR (summer) is the first of two EP’s to come from Loick in the coming months. WTR (winter), we are guessing will be coming out once the sun has set on this summer and the nights have closed in.
