The Giver was a club hit back in 2012 but has been updated for an official release ahead of Dumont’s debut album due later this year. He’s taken his 6 minute club track and turned it into 3 minutes of pure fire.
‘The Giver’ is not just an amazing song; it’s an amazing song with a hilarious music video. Set on Venice Beach, Florida, we see a naughty Jesus like character doling out miracles with awkward consequences. He’s definitely a giver but maybe we shouldn’t be taking what he’s giving out.
Dumont has taken this tune and made it as hot, if not hotter than, ‘Need You (100%) and ‘I Got U’, With its flawless vocals, pulsing bass and big drops, Dumont has shown that he’s more than a one hit wonder, and for this reason ‘The Giver’ is this week’s Record of the Week.
