The Radio and TV course has wrapped up for the semester, delivering hands-on learning and real-world experience across broadcasting, filming and content production.
Throughout the programme, students worked in professional studio environments and on location, developing practical skills in presenting, filming, editing and production. A key focus was live and event-based coverage, with participants capturing content at major cultural moments including Warehouse Project (WHP), Remembering Nature and the BBC Philharmonic.
Alongside live coverage, students planned and produced original content, building confidence both on and off camera while gaining insight into a range of roles within radio and TV.
Reflecting on the experience, student Ryan shared his feedback on the programme:
“My favorite aspects of being with unity radio has been a journey to remember by, being involved with events like the Cupra garage in Manchester, being able to capture content of the whole experience. And mainly going to warehouse projects for the repercussion line-up as it was my first time being in an environment like that, capturing B-rolls of all the DJ’s and light shows, vibing to the atmosphere of it all.”
The course emphasised collaboration, professionalism and creative development, equipping young people with transferable skills for future pathways in media and broadcasting.
