Molly Kennedy spoke to presenter and podcast host Natalie O’Leary on the breakfast show. Natalie interviews people that ‘customers and followers look up to on a personal level’ for Pretty Little Thing’s weekly podcast ‘Behind Closed Doors’. She has an acting diploma and has acted for couple of years after she left uni. ‘I was always performing,’, she tells Molly. To interview and do campaigns with big people like the Kardashians and Little Mix, you need to be confident.

Getting those angles @kourtneykardash ⚡️ I LOVE MY JOB!!! ♥️ @prettylittlething #PLTbyKourtney
Natalie thinks she was probably born quite confident but to get to the level of confidence she has now was a journey. ‘I think what really was a change in my life is when I left university and when I did start working and especially when I started working at PLT I think then I really believed in myself a lot more.’

The podcast, that comes out every Tuesday, ‘has been like a child to me, it’s like my baby ,’, Natalie goes on. ‘Being given the opportunity to do that and to host it for such a large platform that PLT is, was just like a dream come true for me.’
She talks about it really being a ‘pinch me-moment’ when she was asked to do it. It is a big production and she interviews people from all over the world. Before she started presenting the podcast, she had worked for the brand for about 3 years so she knew the brand inside out and could perfectly represent it.
Natalie tells Molly about the podcast episode they made for Black History Month and that the podcast now has specific themes with guests that represent those themes. She has to see script and put her tone of voice to it before she does the interview and calls herself an ‘over-preparer’. The podcasts will keep on coming because Natalie isn’t planning on stopping and says that it is ‘such an amazing opportunity, […] it is great fun.’
