
Manchester Community Central (MACC) talk upcoming projects & future plans! Interview w/ The New Talent Academy
Lauren from MACC spoke with The New Talent Academy about the different roles she plays across different charities in and around Manchester, like managing the social media for non-profit organisation, Invisible Cities. Manchester Community Central (MACC) is an infrastructure organisation that supports the non-profit, voluntary and community sector in Manchester, England. It provides resources, training, and networking opportunities for organisations and individuals involved in community work. Their goal is to strengthen and empower communities to create positive change and improve the lives of residents. Lauren and organisation MACC have been involved with projects like capacity building, which means they support voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector organisations in Manchester with Developing business cases, budgeting, board development etc.
Lauren describes how she has worked closely with fashion label ‘Blank Faces’, who specialise in supporting the homeless community through their brand during their transition into Manchester. Lauren is also a trustee for the Greater Manchester Mayor Charity and is responsible for their finances and keeping the charity running – everything they do is aimed at ending homelessness, for example their campaign, ‘Bed For Every Night’ for those at risk of homelessness.
Another company supported by MACC that Lauren spoke about is JCI Manchester, a local, voluntary personal development organisation for young professionals and entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 40. Lauren spoke about how JCI would be hosting the Young Talents Awards that will take place in October set out to highlight the extraordinary talent that Manchester has to offer, reflecting the diverse community that makes up Manchester’s young professionals.
