Kojey Radical talks debut album ‘Reasons to Smile’, avoiding writer’s block & his desire to break into the acting world! Interview W/ Jasper Hopkins
Kojey Radical talks to Jasper Hopkins on the Unity Radio Breakfast Show about his new album, Reasons to Smile. In what is officially his debut, the rapper has gained widespread acclaim for the fifteen-track project. Kojey sheds some light on a range of issues from the conviction he had in the album’s reception, to the cultural icon his music aims to emulate.
“Good music,” says Kojey. “Is like a Henry Hoover, it never lets you down.”
The East London rapper goes on to describe how by merely thinking about lyrics he is often able to stave off the dreaded writer’s block which continues to plague many a lyricist. The pair even discuss Kojey’s desire to break into the world of acting – particularly voice acting. The rapper saw one of his singles featured in the latest season of Top Boy and is quite close with a few of the newer cast members so an appearance in season 5 could yet be on the cards.
