Tuesday 18th Jan / [ K S R ]
[ K S R ] is an upcoming contemporary R&B/neosoul artist in the Manchester music scene, a warm and soothing voice emigrating from a cold and rainy city. [ K S R ] really broke on to the scene in 2018 after a rally of singles and features on some big Mancunian projects from the likes of Children of Zeus and Fiasco. Since then the talents of [ K S R ] have only strengthened, this couldn’t be more evident in his 2019 debut EP “Unfiltered”. It’s at this point [ K S R ] really defined his path through the industry. The tune “Headloss” on the EP is heavenly; a expertly produced, steady beat which gives [ K S R ] the perfect platform to showcase his skills, incredible atmosphere and melody resonates from [ K S R ]’s voice.
In December 2021, [ K S R ] released his third EP “Peace + Harmony”. More quirky production and yet more wavey delivery from himself. This EP is without a doubt his best work, “Lily Apart” being a clear standout for me, a beautifully tranquil R&B song with some of [ K S R ]’s best songwriting and melodies to date. Another focal point of the EP is the Children of Zeus feature, a rather fitting moment that highlights [ K S R ]’s progress from 2018 when he featured on their album, seizing the opportunities that have presented themselves to him since this has landed [ K S R ] in a favourable position, the world is his oyster. [ K S R ] joined The Breakfast Show on Tuesday 18th January with our very own Jasper Hopkins from 8am, listen to [ K S R ] talk about his journey so far and the processes behind his latest EP “Peace + Harmony”.

We welcome Bella Copeland from Cyber Salford. Bella is came on to talk about a great opportunity being offered by Cyber Salford, a course that offers participants a grant of up to £2500 for successful completion. The course is centred around Cyber Security and the growing importance it has in workplaces and homes alike, outlining the threats of cyber-attacks and how to combat them.

Thursday on The Breakfast Show with Jasper Hopkins we welcomed a bright young starlet in the Mancunian rap game, AJJNR. It comes at an exciting point in his career, it’s been over a year since we’ve seen anything from the upcoming rapper. However, last week, AJJNR dropped “Ditch This One” a drill sounding tune that offers an alternative rendition of the ever-popular drill sound. AJJNR keeps the lyrics light-hearted and fun, he rides the beat immaculately on this one. With pace set, 2022 is tipped to be a massive year for AJJNR after a long hiatus from the scene. With his unique style and vast versatility in the rap sound, its going to be interesting seeing just how far AJJNR can take it in the UK rap game. AJJNR on The Breakfast Show with Jasper Hopkins discussed his new single “Ditch This One” and his plans for the year ahead.
