As festival season is approaching and line ups are getting released its finally time to start outfit planning and so here is a grungy outfit worn by Jess Glynne at the Coachella festival that we can take inspiration from.
The Festival Look
Jess has a really cool style and really rocks the grunge look. By wearing an overlay long mesh top with basic sports wear underneath she has really captured the effortless yet cool look. To start by recreating this look, Weekday online is a great store for basic pieces that are still very cool. The PC Tres Top they sell would be perfect to start off you look. It’s a very simple piece, and so easy to pair with other items, yet great for layering and adds a grunge vibe to your look.
Denim is going to be huge this summer season and ASOS already have plenty of denim tops available on their website. They have crop tops right to long tee’s all rocking the popular raw edge look. For you to rock the denim look yet still keep with a grunge theme choosing a raw edge would look great. The Waven Tini Denim crop top from Asos is a good place to start if you want to stay close to your comfort zone. Its an easy top to wear, isn’t to short or long and the raw edge isn’t so over exaggerated like some pieces on the market. Pair this with an old classic denim bum bag and your good to go. Nothing says festival like denim and grunge. The Denim Fanny pack in Blue White Stripe from Americal Apparel should for sure make it into your accessory wardrobe this season. A perfect size and the stripes give it the retro 90’s grunge vibe.
Now to dress your bottom half. If you want to look at cool as Jess Glynne then for sure take inspiration from her look and grab your self some figure hugging black cycling shorts. American Apparel do a great pair and they are so easy to work with whether you are wearing them underneath shorts or with a long sports tee. They add a cool grungy feel to your outfit and if you like this style then make them a staple piece in your wardrobe this summer. For on your feet we all know how big trainers have become at the minute, especially for both genders. Vans particularly at the minute has a great selection of kicks and to add to this outfit you could choose a pair of SK8-HI Shoes. A staple shoe at the minute for people who choose to adopt the ‘grunge-skate’ look.
Finally, you need accessories to complete any festival look. As Jess Glynne is the face of Bench to really be inspired by her style you should head over to Bench and have a look at their latest collection. They do a cool grey coloured snapback which can add a sports feel to any look. It can also fit with many different styles such as skate, grunge, sports or street so this is a great accessory for everyone. Socks are another great accessory to adopt and Topman have a great range at the minute at very cheap prices. They offer white striped tube socks with a sports style from £3.
Finally, the most important accessory of summer is of course sunglasses. Every single person in summer needs to find themselves a staple pair of sunglasses that will work with any look. Black is normally a safe colour as it goes with everything. However, if you wanted to keep on top of the biggest style trends and add even more denim to your look then Zara do the coolest pair of denim sunglasses on the market and you could easily have them in your summer wardrobe.
